Bali Mandara Toll Road is the first toll road in Bali and it is the first floating toll road in Indonesia. Bali Mandara Toll Road is stretch across the Gulf of Benoa 12.7 kilometers in length. This toll road has a uniqueness side than other toll road that exist in Indonesia because it is the one and only toll road that provides a pathway for motorcycle in right and left side sections. The length of Bali Mandara Toll Road is equal with Penang Bridge in Malaysia which is reach 12.7 kilometers. Bali Mandara Toll Road connects Benoa, Ngurah Rai Tuban, and Nusa Dua.

Fact 1, 100% made by Indonesia
The construction of this toll road was built by BUMN and BUMD consortium of Bali. This toll road with12,7 kilometers in length also spent cost around 2,4 trillion rupiahs and it financed by syndicate of BUMN and Jasa Marga. APBN does not involved at all. The material and all technology are creation of the children of nation.
Fact 2, The short term establishment
This toll road was started to build from Maret 2012 and finish on Mei 2013. It counted as short term establishment for this huge construction above the sea. Not many of lands that should be released because most of this toll is hanging up on the sea. It is just some of mangrove area was eroded when it still construction period. Nevertheless, 16,000 pieces of mangrove tree have planted after the construction is finish.
Fact 3, The old name of the toll road
At first, this toll road was well known as “Tol Atas Laut Bali”. Some people called it “Nusa Dua – Ngurah Rai – Benoa toll road because it connects three of those areas. The Governor of Bali, Made Mangku Pastika suggest 2 names for this toll road to the president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. Both of the names are Soekarno Hatta and Bali Mandara.
Fact 4, There is a pathway for motorcycle
This is the first toll road that has a motorcycle lane. The special lane is provided at the right and left of roadside and charged tariff is Rp4.000 for one time pass. The speed of motorcycle should be around 25-40 kilometers/hour when pass through this toll road.
Fact 5, CCTV and Wind Monitor within 24 hours
Because it was built on the sea, this toll is quite risky to the magnitude of wind speed. Therefore, there is an anemometer installed in every toll gate (Nusa Dua, Ngurah Rai, and Benoa). If the wind speed reach 40 kilometers or more, the toll road should closed temporarily to avoid the accident risk. There is also a 24 hours CCTV to monitor every vehicle movement if sometimes there any vehicle strikes.
