With a name that is a clear nod to the green movement, The Little Green Cafe is also a cosy little corner to veer into along Seminyak’s Jalan Bidadari for a fit bite, big or small. Upon arrival, a vine-entwined bamboo archway and its small open kitchen welcome you with a glass display filled with ‘salads of the day’. Mini blackboards with the highlighted menus hang over the kitchen’s walls. Between this main kitchen and the whole food store up front is a small cool compound with a mango tree that provides ample natural shade over table setups under green parasols. A mini garden with Buddha statues and colourful floral wreaths add a subtle touch of Zen, as does a sculpted stone orb fountain as its centrepiece. This kind of relaxed atmosphere sets the mood nicely.

Healty Foods & DrinksUntitled-5-littlegreen.jpg

Especially as the cafe’s food and drinks are adjustable according to your dietary needs (either vegan, raw, wheat-free, sugar-free, gluten-free, and so forth). Pick from a selection of vegetarian delights and house specials, such as a veggie burger that comes with a choice of two salads, pitta bread filled with green salad and an option for a second salad and house dip, and the Vietnamese spring rolls with greens. The menu changes daily but it is mainly salads, porridges, and an array of fruit, nut and chocolate cakes. Naturally recommended is to go for the main dish and soups of the day, with a power smoothie that is a blend of papaya, banana, coconut milk and yoghurt, or any selection of the fresh juices according to season.
